How to Use DMSO

Welcome to the world of Alternative Health!

Important: Store in a dark glass container and keep out of direct sunlight.

How to Use DMSO

  1. Skin Patch Test: Apply a small amount to a cotton ball or swab and perform a skin patch test. If you notice any redness or burning sensations, soothe with Aloe Vera.

  2. Daily Use: You can apply up to 2 tablespoons of DMSO per day on your skin. For best results, alternate areas to avoid hardening of the skin from continuous use on the same spot.

  3. Wound Care: If you have an injury or wound, apply DMSO generously across the area. This helps speed up the healing process.

  4. Taste Warning: When using topically, a garlic-like taste in your mouth is normal after a few minutes.

  5. Internal Use: For internal use, apply a few drops of DMSO under your tongue 3-4 times daily. To avoid the “oyster breath,” take MSM supplements every 12 hours while using DMSO. Always consult your health practitioner for appropriate dosages.

Precautions

  • Ensure your skin is clean before use. Avoid applying DMSO over nail polish, makeup, or perfumes, as it can drive chemicals into your bloodstream.

  • Do not refrigerate DMSO – it will crystalize. If this happens, let it warm to room temperature, and the crystals will melt. The effectiveness remains unchanged.

  • Avoid applying to insect bites and stings.

  • After applying DMSO, don’t swim in a pool for at least 30 minutes to allow the DMSO to absorb fully. Chlorine can irritate your skin.

  • Avoid wearing clothing over freshly treated areas.

  • Do not apply to tattoos.

What is DMSO?

DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) is a by-product of wood-pulp manufacturing, originally used for treating conditions like interstitial cystitis and arthritis in the 1960s.

How is DMSO Made?

DMSO is created in nature from dimethyl sulfide, a compound produced by microbial activity in soil and sediment. It is naturally present in water and soil.

DMSO has been shown to prevent oxidative stress and reduce brain swelling, improving blood supply to the brain. Immediate use of DMSO after head injuries can reduce swelling in as little as five minutes. Clinical trials indicate that DMSO can significantly improve survival rates for patients with traumatic brain injuries.

DMSO: Research and Applications

DMSO is extensively researched, with over 10,000 scientific articles supporting its therapeutic benefits. Although it’s approved for a limited number of conditions (like interstitial cystitis) in the U.S., its potential remains vastly untapped due to bureaucratic hurdles and pharmaceutical industry lobbying.

Some Benefits of DMSO

DMSO is versatile, with several key benefits for humans, animals, and plants:

  • Anti-microbial properties

  • Muscle relaxant

  • Increases white blood cells production

  • Improves cell membrane permeability to aid in toxin removal

  • Radio-protective (reduces damage from radiation)

  • Pain relief

  • Promotes DNA repair

  • Detoxifies heavy metals (like aluminum, mercury, arsenic, etc.)

  • Reduces inflammation and swelling

  • Improves blood circulation by dilating blood vessels and reducing blood viscosity

  • Increases oxygen delivery to cells

  • Acts as a free radical scavenger

  • Penetrates the skin and blood-brain barrier, delivering compounds directly to the bloodstream

  • Reduces mechanical damage to cells

  • Soothes the central nervous system

  • Enhances drug and supplement effects (such as chemotherapy, insulin, and corticosteroids)

  • Speeds up wound healing and reduces scar tissue formation

  • Non-toxic and safe for use

DMSO’s Odor and Taste

As DMSO metabolizes in the body, it can produce a sulfur-like odor (similar to garlic, onions, or oysters). This may be noticeable after topical application. You can mask this odor by using wintergreen oil.
